Roman hope.

Sometimes I get hung up on the ol' religious ideas. For instance, I can get to the point where I view the bible as a list of rules to obey. I'm not denying the fact that it IS the guideline for my life. But where I stumble is in me, trying to do it on my own. Like it's a task to be completed. Well, my world got a little shook up when I read a little Romans 8 in the message:

"Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God's action in them find that God's Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God."

"Self-help" the road to failure. How can we keep ourselves from thinking we can fix ourselves? Trusting in God is a sort of death to self, but it leads us into the spacious free life. I can see that when we turn vision away from our self, our strength, and rely/ trust/ hope/ bank on God we are secure.

"So don't you see that we don't owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There's nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God's Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go!"

Starting...

I created this blog to share my thoughts and update the world on my happenings... and I've wanted to for sometime now. I'm not out for followers and fame. It's just me.

Stay tuned.
